In celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the LSE Africa Summit, we would like to highlight the impactful work of LSE alumni on the continent who are striving to promote job creation, inclusive and sustainable growth.

The LSE Africa Summit team invites all Alumni whose work aligns strongly with the theme of one of our 7 panels, to apply to be a moderator on the specific panel.

Why Apply?

Being a part of the summit will provide you with a platform to showcase your knowledge and expertise. It will also give you the chance to engage with a high calibre of experts in your field and drive relevant, thought provoking conversations.

How to Apply?

Please send all the required information listed below to by 12:00 GMT on Thursday 15th February 2018:

  • A recent CV;
  • Any relevant information which highlights the impact of your work. This should include, a link to your website, any speeches, publications or articles; and
  • A 3 minute video, introducing yourself and your work.

Application Process and Timeline

February 5 Applications open at 12:00 GMT
February 15 Applications close at 12:00 GMT
February 22 Successful applicants will be notified by 23:59 GMT

Judging criteria

As a student-led organisation, the LSE Africa Summit team will carefully deliberate and will assess applicants on the extent to which they meet the following criteria:

  • How relevant your work is to the panel’s discussion and overall theme
  • What level of impact your work has produced in terms of scale and sustainability
  • The potential your work has to inspire and influence the Summit attendees

Please note that the only applications that will be considered are those received via and within the stipulated time frame.

Should your application be successful, the LSE Africa summit are able to cover the following costs:

  • Visa application fee;
  • A single economy return flight;
  • Transportation to and from a London Airport only;
  • Hotel Accommodation (around the LSE) for a maximum of 2 nights; and
  • Breakfast and lunch at the LSE.
