Kagwe is a director at Prosaic Invest, a London-based renewable energy project development and financing consultancy established in 2016. Prosaic Invest works across utility scale, commercial, decentralised and off-grid energy solutions; as well as emission free transport projects in Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. Kagwe is also the founder of ChargeBound, an online electric vehicle resource providing electric vehicle owners with a resource to locate approved and grant eligible charge point installers across the UK.
Kagwe started his career as an equity trader at Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equities Division in London, covering European transport and industrial public-listed companies. This was followed by a role in the investment team of Berkeley Energy, a Sub-Saharan and renewable energy focused private equity firm, where he worked on the development and investment of geothermal, hydro, wind and solar projects across Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Ghana. He has also previously held an Advisory Board position at Brighter World Energy, the world’s first buy-to-give energy retailer focused on developing mini-grids in Eastern Africa.
Kagwe has undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics & Economics (MORSE) from the University of Warwick.
