Patrick is a Policy Officer at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics and Political Science. Here he supports the work of Professor Lord Nicholas Stern to support and influence senior decision makers and policy makers to design and implement the appropriate policies to take strong action on climate change.
Prior to this position, Patrick worked at Camco Clean Energy (South Africa). His work includes advising government departments, public sector institutions, development finance institutions and private sector organizations around energy and climate change policy development. He has undertaken work in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, China, India and others. Patrick has advised at all scales of the public sector including providing support to local, national and regional bodies as well as explaining the implications to the private sector. Here he supported the development of climate change and energy policy, including mobilising climate finance, designing carbon pricing mechanisms and supporting renewable energy procurement mechanisms.
Patrick holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environmental Science from Rhodes University, South Africa and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management: Public Sector Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
He will be a facilitator on the panel: Green Economy: Powering Africa Through Renewable Energy.
