Tanya Charles has many years of experience working internationally on women’s rights, gender and sexuality. She has designed a number of bespoke training programmes on a variety of issues; from women’s economic empowerment in the mining sector to engaging faith-based leaders in actions to bring about gender justice. She has conducted research with the Institute of Development Studies in the UK, Oxfam South Africa, and Oxfam Zimbabwe. Tanya has written for publications such as Huffpost Women and South Africa’s Mail and Guardian, among others. She is currently a 2018/2019 Atlantic Fellow for Social and Economic Equity based at the London School of Economics where she is also completing a Masters degree in Inequality and Social Sciences.
